I cannot begin to explain the weariness that comes through raising a child with special needs. The uncertainty, the efforts to balance life’s demands, and the constant nagging voice inside me saying ‘Are you sure you’ve done enough?’ wears me down. When I factor in my need to ‘be in control’ and the worry that accompanies that need, it’s a miracle that I’ve maintained my sanity for as long as I have.
