When we wrote [...]]]> Today 1:110 children are diagnosed with Autism. When we wrote this song, 8 years ago, we were told the statistic was 1:10,000 were diagnosed with Autism. This journey we call “Autism”, has allowed us the privilege of seeing life through Surreia’s eyes. We have learned to love more genuinely, to appreciate God’s simple blessings and to find beauty in unexpected places. Our prayer is that this video and song will bless you beyond words and that you will be reminded that “God doesn’t make mistakes. Deut: 32:4″.
My daughter continues to show me the beauty in everything that is “yellow”, not pink. My daughter will always love Dora and she will always bring joy to everyone she meets.

As a parent of a child with special needs, I often find myself saying, “What?, Why?, How?”  I rest in the solace that God is our mighty creator.  As our child is part of our flesh and part of our blood, we don’t “choose” to love, because we innately love.  God so loved us that He gave His only son to die for us and make a way for us to be with Him forever.  So at the end of the day, when I Ask God to be with me, Seek His purposes for my life and Knock so that I can truly be with him without barrier, I find myself saying, “What love the father has for us.  Why?  Because He loves us and created us.  How deep is His love…  Greater than the heights and depths of the ocean blue.  Oh how He loves me and Oh how He loves you!

]]> http://surreiasplace.com/blog/2010/03/04/what-is-your-prayer/feed/ 0 A.4.12 http://surreiasplace.com/blog/2010/03/01/a-4-12-2/ http://surreiasplace.com/blog/2010/03/01/a-4-12-2/#comments Mon, 01 Mar 2010 13:24:48 +0000 Donna Olson Bennett http://surreiasplace.com/communities/?p=1060 A.4.12. is found in the Bible as Acts 4:12.  ”Salvation [...]]]> A.4.12. is found in the Bible as Acts 4:12.  ”Salvation is found in No One Else.”  This scripture holds dear to our heart as our testimony to what God has done for us through His Son Jesus.    The title song on our CD to benefit Surreia’s Place is titled, “No Other Name”.  The song is inspired by Acts 4:12.  As we prepared the CD, we wanted people to be aware of that particular Bible verse, so we put in small font, “A.4.12.” .  This CD was developed for the sole use of building awareness for autism and Surreia’s Place.  We had not given thought to what we would call our band…  Not realizing that you had to have your “band name” on the cover of a CD to list it on iTunes, we only had one obvious choice to choose…  A.4.12.!  As it says on the back of our CD jacket, “God doesn’t make mistakes”.  He purposes everything we do and we look forward to recording more songs that will connect you to God’s word and inspire you to impact others by sharing His message of Hope and Love!
