I have heard it many times…. ”Autistic people cannot tell a lie!” Hmmmm…. My daughter is 13 and I have never heard her lie, let alone be sneaky until now! So, the question is being “sneaky” the same as telling a lie?

Please post your thoughts and share your stories!

Here is Surreia’s first attempt at being sneaky…. One more thing… Notice how she says, “see ya, folks” at the end of the video! She has never used the word, “folks”. Too cute.

Recipe:

Monster Cookies Recipe

INGREDIENTS

Peanut Butter cookie ingredients: 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, room temperature (use butter substitute if needed. Willow Run or Earth Balance)
1 cup of creamy peanut butter (alternative to peanuts: almond or sunflower butter)
3/4 cup of granulated sugar
1/2 cup of packed brown sugar
2 eggs, room temperature (if allergic to eggs, use egg substitute)
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour 3/4 cup rice flour, 1/2 cup coconut flour, 1 cup gluten free oats.

6 ounces choc chips and 6 ounces or more of m & m’s (sun spree brand is a good GF/CF alternative)

METHOD

1 Preheat oven to 375°F. Beat the butter and peanut butter until light and fluffy. Add the sugars and beat at medium speed until well incorporated and fluffy.

2 Add the eggs and vanilla and beat for about 2 minutes on medium speed.

3 Add the baking soda and beat for 30 seconds. Be sure to scrape down the sides and bottom to ensure all the butter is well incorporated.

4 Add the flour and salt, a bit at a time until incorporated but do not overmix.

5 Fold in the mix-ins for either the kid version or the adult version. OR split the dough in half and cut the mix-in ingredient measurements in half, for half adult cookies and half kid cookies.

6 Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and scoop on rounded spoonfuls of dough and bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden bown. Be sure to let them cool on the baking sheet before you move them.

Makes about 3 dozen cookies.

My prayer for you is that you will seek HIm throughout each day. Not just a quick prayer here and there asking God to give you something you want. Seek HIm and His will for your life! Pray incessantly! If you do that you will feel His presence and see Him work miracles and move mountains in your life.

What does the word impact mean anyway?

n.

1. The striking of one body against another; collision. See Synonyms at collision.

2. The force or impetus transmitted by a collision.

3. The effect or impression of one thing on another: still gauging the impact of automation on the lives of factory workers.

4. The power of making a strong, immediate impression: a speech that lacked impact.

There you have it, the word Impact according to thefreedictionary.com! Of course, the word “collide”, doesn’t necessarily set off a positive connotation, but it does give you a visual of something that happens unexpectedly and of something that most likely has life altering or changing implications.

Here are some questions to consider?

1) What “collisions” have you experienced in your life that have significantly changed the course of where you thought you were headed?

2) Who has significantly impacted your life?

3) Where do you feel called to impact your world around you?

Have you considered what it means to truly make an impact in your life and in the lives of those you know or meet? The Bible says in Matthew 5:7, “let you light shine for all to see, so that everyone will praise your father in heaven.” Let’s face it, we all want to impact our world in a positive way and to leave a legacy for those you love and for future generations. Consider the questions above and consider how you will light the world around you? We all hurt in some way and we all have dark days, but you can share your light …sharing the hope and love found in Chirst.

Hi!

Welcome to a new week.

On Saturday morning I woke up to find a few bananas needing a recipe. I opted for GF/CF Banana bread muffins.

As usual, I started the recording a bit into the process.

Here is the recipe…

Preheat oven to 350!

1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 butter or butter substitute
2 eggs
3 ripe bananas
1/2 cup rice milk and squeeze of lemon (our way of making buttermilk)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup rice flour, 1/2 cup almond flour, 3/4 cup coconut flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
chocolate chips (as many as you would like)

1) blend sugar and softened butter
2) blend in eggs
3) fold in mashed bananas
4) add milk and vanilla
5) blend together dry ingredients and add to wet mix
6) add chocolate chips
7) add to muffin cups and bake in oven for 30 minutes

So, I woke up this morning missing the anticipation and excitement of Christmas. That thought quickly turned to the anticipation I felt for Easter. Easter is when we celebrate the promise that comes with Jesus’ resurrection. We have eternal hope and joy through him.

Ecclesiastes 3 says, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.” There are so many seasons to enjoy in our journey here on earth. Are you embracing them all? Are you looking forward to the change in season? I want to encourage you to find joy and peace today in all that you do. The Bible reminds us that “life is but a breath”. Take a deep breath and get on with living!

1 John 2:17, “The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of the Lord lives forever!”

We can’t take anything with us when we pass. Are you living with purpose in all you say and do? What legacy are you building and leaving here on earth?

Acts 4:12 says, “Salvation is found in no one else! There is no other name by which we can be saved.”

Hi Friends… I share this as a seed of encouragement and perspective. Life is but a breath, but through your relationship with Jesus, you will find a love that has no end and lasts forever. Through him all things are possible and there is NO Other Name by which you are saved!

In Him,
